Contexts

1- There are two friends talking about their previous day. One of them tells:
"I asked for the day off at work to take my grandma to the doctor. We went there at midday and, as there were no more patients, we were back home within the hour. She wanted to sleep so I came back home and spent the rest of the day watching the cycling on television. Talking about bikes, have you got yours mended yet?"

2- Anna arrives to Adam's house unexpectedly and finds him looking at some brochures. He is planning his holidays. She offers to help him. He agrees, noticing she is upset about something. They look at some of the brochures together an she sighs. He asks her what is going on and, after a while, she explains her house is a mess and she does not want to be there for a while: "Darlene is as miserable as ever, and jackie never comes to visit us. Anyway, I'm sure you don't want to hear about my problems, so let's get back to thos holiday plans."
